The Rating scale I use is a 5 point system.
What factors into my system is three key things:
- Leave Expectation at the door
- The Notion of Genre
- The Sticking Point (Journey)
With these elements, it leads to the overall conclusion … Can I be entertained?
If everything falls into place, a film will get a perfect score. If there are things that bring it down, it falls below in the various categories. Each point value is tied to that worth. Here are the scores and the level of worth:
- 5 out of 5 – Legendary (Perfect Experience)
- 4.5 out of 5 – Award Worthy
- 4 out of 5 – Full Price
- 3.5 out of 5 – Matinee
- 3 out of 5 – Theater Discount
- 2.5 out of 5 – Friday Night Rental
- 2 out of 5 – Rental
- 1.5 out of 5 – Noise on the TV
- 1 out of 5 – Mind Numbing
- 0.5 out of 5 – Torture
- 0 out of 5 – WTF
